Star Wars fans aren’t casual fans. They grew up with Star Wars, they raised their children on Star Wars, they have opinions on the prequels that they want to share with you whether you like it or not. Buying them something involves a leap of faith because they already own the obvious gifts and they will know instantly if you bothered to try with this present or not.
That’s why we took this seriously. We wanted to find gifts that would stand up to scrutiny from someone who doesn’t just know General Grievous from Darth Vader, but a favourite faction, opinion on canon vs. legacy and exactly which battle Royale they want to reenact at Christmas.
Dolls that aren’t just novelty, apparel that looks like it’s actually been worn in the canyon lands of Jakku, DVDs and books that fans would be happy to add to their collection. In short, gifts that any self respecting Star Wars fan would be happy to receive, not those destined for the cupboard under the stairs.
Anything that made the cut here has been approved by us. Our main criterion? Would we hand this gift over ourselves? If the answer wasn’t yes then it didn’t get included. Sure, there’s some novelty here because yaa’aaa’hook nous when it comes to Star Wars but it’s all had quality checked by people who know just how much of a difference it makes.
We’ve ranged around a bit with price and occasion. Some kids-like gifts that would work for the youngsters in your life. Some geeky stuff that’ ll be appreciated by budding jedis of all ages. Some gifts that are for adults only, because Aunt Carol doesn’t need to know what Han is saying to Leia under their Yuletide sparking. The point is that we cover you whatever your situation, whoever you’re buying for and however much you can spend.
If they love Star Wars. They won’t just like your gift, they’ll love it too. Well, maybe like at first but who doesn’t love wrapping paper? ;-)
