Daughter
Picking the right gift for your daughter is one of those things that feels more important than it probably should. It’s not that the thing you give is the be all and end all. But she’ll know instantly whether you spent any time thinking about her and what she likes or if you just grabbed the first vaguely suitable thing you saw. There’s a difference between suitable and right and that’s where most gifts fall short. That’s the gap we wanted to bridge.
Don’t get us wrong, it’s tricky. Your daughter is not a type to be boxed with an easy gift. There’s the daughter that lives with you and the one that left home three states ago but makes it down to visit on Sundays. There’s the daughter just starting out at twenty two and the one with children of her own who’s celebrating forty this year. There’s the daughter that would never let you know you’d gotten it wrong and the daughter that absolutely would. They all have different personalities, interests and stages of life they’re in. The thing they have in common is you and the fact that you wanting to pick the right gift doesn’t.
So we asked ourselves one question. If we were giving this to someone we loved and had spent our whole lives building memories with, would we feel good handing it to them. Not like Thank God That’s Over Good. Good. Happy good. Immediately we crossed off piles of stuff. Generic gifts that felt like placeholders until you could give something better. Pretty things with no real purpose. Gifts that referenced Daughter as a concept but not your daughter in particular.
Compared to what we cut out, we ended up with a shortlist. intentional. We don’t want to bombard you with things just so you click more. A well considered gift that hits the mark is worth far more than a handful that fit squarely in the middle. We think you know that already. Which is why you’re here browsing thoughtfully rather than clicking the first link that pops up. Some of these are for birthdays and milestones and all those momentous occasions. Some are for nothing in particular. Because let’s be honest, some of the best gifts are for no reason at all.
The ones that come without any particular occasion end up meaning the most. Because they’re a little piece of you saying ‘hey, I was thinking about you today and I wanted you to know.’
We want this gift to be that.
