Buying your girlfriend a gift shouldn’t be hard. Sure, girls have ruined it for everybody with impossible standards and taste quotas you couldn’t possibly know about without googling, but your girlfriend is not “girls”. She’s your girlfriend. And if you’ve been listening to her at all these last few years, you already know her taste, you just need the right something to show it.
That’s where we come in.
We built this list out of exhaustion. Exhaustion of seeing the same magazines compile lists of “gifts for your girlfriend” with yet another box of jewellery or sweater shoved in as a faux option for the women in their lives. Don’t worry, we’ve included those things too, but only where they’re actually worth including. We will not be beating you around the head with items simply because they’re trendy or rose gold.
Because let’s talk about pressure. Buying your girlfriend a gift is no easy feat. Everybody knows birthdays, Christmas, Valentines day are occasions that demand....something. But what? You don’t want to get her something silly or childish, but more serious items require you to KNOW something about her, about what she likes. When has that ever not stressed anyone out?
That is a question we’ve asked ourselves. How can we make your life easier without making every gift boring or generic? We poured over our own lists to find that things that hit those sweet-spots. Gifts that say you’re paying attention without you having to loudly announce it. Gifts that don’t embarrass either of you.
Now please don’t mistake our transparency for inadequate selection. We will not make up for lack of options by looping the same gifts into different categories. Our girlfriends are different at different stages. The gifts don’t have to be, but this range will be. Seasoned girlfriends and new love will both be able to find something they like on here. It’s an inevitable truth that your girlfriend now is not the same girlfriend you started dating two years ago and neither should your Gifts for Girlfriend list be.
Just be ready, whatever you get. We’ve all been there standing in the store with that gut sinking feeling that this just isn’t right. You won’t get that feeling from any of the gifts on our list. Each one we would hand choose ourselves and give to our girlfriends happily. So if we’re willing to give it to them, you should be too.
