She’s held the dress up at every fitting, talked you down from at least three separate spirals and wrangled seventeen people who all want to go to different restaurants. Being maid of honour doesn’t just mean showing up on day. She’ll be running the whole thing quietly behind the scenes – the person who knows where the rings are hiding and if the mother of the bride needs calming down before walking down the aisle.
Of course finding a gift worthy of that is easier said than done. The obvious choices tend to fall flat. Because a sash and a cheap plastic flute aren’t enough. When it came down to it, this was the thing we kept going back to. The best gifts for a maid of honour are ones that feel like they were bought by someone who was paying attention. Paying attention to her. To what she drinks, what she loves, what she’d never treat herself to. That was the bar we measured everything against, and it’s why this list isn’t any longer.
