100th Birthday
A hundred years is an achievement. It’s not a milepost. It’s a monument. So if you want to mark it properly you’re going to have to go above and beyond to find the right gift. Nothing off the rack is going to do and everybody in the room will know it. Celebrating a century is not like showing up with a card and something that looks nice. Because that centenarian has lived the entire twentieth century and a sizable chunk of this one. Your standard birthday gifts won’t cover it. They’ve outlasted trends, tech toys, governments, and most of your guesses at what they’d like.
We built this collection because nothing we saw got that. Most gift guides will simply list the same things they’d suggest for an eightieth birthday with a larger number on the badge. We didn’t think that was right. So we dug deeper to find things that felt worthy of celebrating a century. Things that will honour the person, the life they’ve lived. Things that recognise the occasion and celebrate that you’re surrounded by friends and family that want to mark it.
Everything we’ve picked works on at least one of those levels. Either it honours the individual. Or it’s something that will be remembered by the family and friends long after the day is over. Or it’s something amazing that transcends what any off-the-rack gift can be. Some of our picks are as unique as the life being celebrated. Some are as celebratory as knocking a century of birthdays is. But none of it will be wasted.
Which brings us to another point, we considered who’s receiving these gifts when we put this together. Because at one hundred some things are clearly not appropriate. We didn’t want gifts with a learning curve. Nothing that needs to be plugged in, charged or used sat down. We looked for gifts that feel considered. Gifts that celebrate who this person is, instead of how old they are.
You don’t spend a hundred years without things worth celebrating. You want gifts that acknowledge that. Everything in this gift collection was picked for the centenarian in your life. Selected because they are the right gifts, not simply the easy ones.
