Halloween is this magical moment at the start of that mad dash towards Christmas and if you pay attention to it, it has its own personality. It rewards those who like their jokes darker. It rewards excess. It rewards that friend in your life who takes their bowl of sweets very seriously, or who hosts the kinds of parties that actually require a costume, or who just loves this niche more than anyone else that you know. We chose stuff that we would actually buy ourselves.
