Wedding
Buying a wedding gift shouldn’t be this difficult. You want the two of you to know each other, you care about what you’re giving them – yet you find yourself sweating over a spreadsheet of silverware and whether you should get them a blender or a juicer. Wedding lists are supposed to help but usually serve only to reduce the whole thing into some soulless shopping checklist. And the people who religiously stick to them tend to feel like they’re making a donation by the end of it.
Which is why we put this together. We didn’t want any of that here. Every item in this collection was personally picked by us. We wanted gifts that feel less like something folks tidy away in a cupboard and more like something they actually keep. We didn’t want clutter, or clothes, or coasters. We searched high and low until we found things that feel thoughful without being swish, things with substance but in the best way.
Human substance.
None of that sterile stuff you’ll see on every list.
Which meant ruling out plenty of stuff along the way. If it wasn’t grabbing us, it didn’t make the cut. If it tried too hard to be gentle or lyrical – goodbye! What we’re left with are things that arrive in a kitchen or on a shelf or on a table and stay put. Things that get used, or displayed, or talked about for years, not weeks.
We also considered how differently you might find yourself buying a gift. Maybe you know the pairingle very well and you want that reflected. Maybe you work with the groom or just know the bride. Maybe you got tied up at the last minute and there’s nothing left on the list. It all worked for us. Because these gifts aren’t just wedding-appropriate, they’re actually really good.
That’s why we kept this small. A massive list of mediocre gifts doesn’t help anyone who’s already scrambling around trying to RSVP, buy train tickets, and sort out what the hell you’re going to wear. We did the hard work. Now you just get to shop. We think you’ll like what you see.
