Tottenham Hotspur
We know the type of Spurs fan who doesn’t need convincing. The person who already knows every name on the teamsheet and already feels like they know the result on Sunday morning before they’ve had their coffee. They don’t want a gift that came in a bag and has had a badge stuck on it either. We had them in mind when we put this gift guide together. Not the person who wants any Spurs merchandise. We created this for the person that wants the right Spurs merchandise.
It shouldn’t be difficult to source good Tottenham gifts but often it feels like it is. Official merchandise can often feel uninspired; poorly thought out and mass-produced. We are not interested in any of that above here. Every item had to pass a specific test. Would a real Tottenham fan really want this? Someone who has followed them through thick and thin at White Hart Lane and now the new ground would think was worthwhile? That was our only criteria.
Quality was important to us when searching for gifts. We only wanted to include things that showed some pride and craftsmanship. Items that somebody has clearly spent a little more time thinking about. Not just slapping a logo on. Who Tottenham are and what they mean to their supporters is crafted through years of success and notoriously painful failures. There is pride in being a Tottenham fan and we feel that passion should be respected when giving gifts.
Hopefully this gift guide works whatever stage of that person’s Spurs journey you are at. From knowing every detail about the year they supported Spurs to knowing they are a Spurs fan and support nothing else but Lilywhite. The occasions should be obvious. Birthdays, Christmas, Father’s day if your dad takes you to every game no matter how bad they’ve been performing. But why wait for an occasion when some of these are just something we think every Spurs fan should own.
We like to keep ours lists small. That’s what we do around here. If something doesn’t meet our standards then it doesn’t make the cut. We think a shortlist of gifts that we love is better than a long list of things we don’t really care about. If it’s made the cut it’s because it deserves to be here.
