Being a Mariners fan is an exercise in faith of sorts. It demands quite a lot from you. Always has. But those of you who love this team love it. Everything we include here has been picked for a reason; not just because it’s baseball related but because it meets a minimum threshold that we require for everything we write about here. Would we buy it for ourselves? You’ll notice that we don’t ask if it’s acceptable or if it would suffice. We ask ourselves if we would give it to someone we know proudly wears their Mariners love.
Hell, Seattle fans have waited forever for things to turn around and there’s an ingrained knowledge in that history that makes rooting for this team feel earned. Nobody who watches these games casually walked out wearing navy and teal. These fans have spent the years. They remember the big plays. They actually know baseball. We try to keep that in mind when putting together gift guides and pick things that speak to that kind of fandom, not lower to it.
