Being a Vikings fan is a specific kind of commitment. Through vicious winters, devastating playoff losses, and 50 years of nearly-but-not-quite; these faithful fans don’t need convincing to care about their team. They care too much already, and that’s why you should care about getting them a great gift.
We built Vikings Jaguar because we found that Viking merch is either garbage that you can find at any airport gift shop between Los Angeles and Minneapolis, or else it’s so insider-baseball that it’ll only work for the person who already has all the inside-jerseys. We wanted something else. Gifts that a TRUE fan would actually want to use and be excited to receive from someone who gets how important this team is to them.
Minnesota Vikings fans are a unique breed that we took into consideration while curating this shop. They’ve been through it all. They know every crushing detail of Viking history, and they proudly wear the shirt every year. A gift for a Vikings fan should feel like it honors that. Not some random jacket you picked up because it was on sale and it had the Viking jersey logo on it. But something you put time into picking because you know they live and die with this team every Sunday; every road trip to Lambeau that they’ll spend the whole drive arguing they should’ve won, every basement turned library in purple, and every tailgate spent standing in weather that should’ve been relegated to just birds and cows.
When thinking of what to include in Vikings Jaguar we asked ourselves what we’d want to receive if someone we knew really knew how long we’ve been fans. If it didn’t feel like something curated specifically for us, then it didn’t make the cut. Everything you see here passed that test. We didn’t just want to have a large number of items to check a box. Viking fans deserve better than that.
The Vikings haven’t won a Super Bowl in...well we’re not going to go there. But enjoying this team through all the beautiful suffering is a commitment all it’s own. And the fans that faithfully stand by deserve gifts that reflect just how much energy they put into cheering for their team through it all. These do.
