Devils fandom is a certain type of fandom. It endured the drought, it endured people asking you if you were switching to the New York teams. It came out the other side begrudging, battle-hardened, and more committed than ever. That kind of fandom isn’t served by some hastily bought jersey from the sports shop.
We built this collection with you in mind. The Devils fan who has watched clips of Martin Brodeur making saves that defy physics their whole life. The fan who grew up with the three Cups and unconsciously measures every season against them. The fan that has kids now and is indoctrinating a new generation of fandom into their household where wearing red and black is essentially a uniform. Every last thing here was filtered through every last person.
It’s made less obvious than it might seem from the outside. There’s a mountain of ready-made gear for sports fans that doesn’t need us to talk about it. The cheesy mugs and hats, the jerseys from chain stores. The generic stuff licensed with the team logo slapped on something that wouldn’t otherwise ever have existed. That stuff is easy to find and easy to ignore. We wanted different. We wanted things that feel special. Built to last. That a true Devils fan would love to own, not feel silently obligated to hang on their wall out of courtesy and shove in a drawer.
That’s why we kept the collection small. Why recommend you fifty variations on the same theme? Instead we thought about the occasions you actually encounter. A loved one’s birthday, who happens to have Devils fandom ingrained into their soul. Christmas for the dad that has gone to every home game for the last fifteen years. That friend who you know is getting hooked now that they watched game highlights for an entire season and are officially in. Different people, different budgets, but a standard we maintain throughout.
