Avengers
Some Marvel fans will accept nothing less than perfection. They’ve seen the movies both in release order and chronological order. They have opinions about every entry in the Infinity Saga and will not hesitate to share them with you unprompted. And they’ll know immediately if you’ve bought a lazy gift. That mug with a generic Marvel logo just isn’t going to cut it. They’ve seen that mug. They’ve probably even got that mug at home. Someone bought it for them three Christmas’ ago and knew they loved movies because they Googled “Avengers gift” into the first search result and started shopping.
We set out to do better than that.
Each and every one of these gifts was hand-picked for the discriminating Marvel lover in your life. We refuse to package up licensed tat and declare it good enough because it’s got a character on it. We wanted gifts that felt as though they were considered specifically for people who know their Wakanda from their Vormir, and know why that matters. Gifts that will whisper in the background of their day-to-day life “we listening to you and know that you love Marvel.”
Honestly, the range of people who love Avengers movies runs the full spectrum. There are kids opening Iron Man toys for the first time and discovering the greatest thing that will ever happen to them. That’s a reasonable opinion to have, by the way. There are also adults who cut their teeth on the comics long before there were any movies, and still have feelings about that. Some people don’t like comics or pre-Endgame films and jumped straight in at Endgame. Now they own every movie and watched them all in order. Respect to those people, that takes dedication. We tried to pick gifts that suit all of those people without condescending to one side of the spectrum or getting too niche for the other.
But most important of all, we didn’t bulk up this list by throwing in some trashy impulse buys. Chances are you can walk into Target and find a ton of Avengers themed merchandise. Heck, there’s probably some stuff in your house you didn’t know was Avengers themed. We’re here to say that while there is absolutely loads of Avengers merchandise, there is not enough of the good stuff. Good gifts that aren’t casually available on every clothing and gift website out there. We were brutal in our filtering. Some toys came incredibly close to making the list and we loved them, but they just felt like cynical attempts to trade on someone else’s hard work. Here are gifts that we would actually buy.
