World of Warcraft
Twenty years is a long time to love something. World of Warcraft has existed since 2004 and the people who play it are serious about it. They know their faction and their class. They almost certainly have feelings about expansions you didn’t know people could have about video games. Buying a present for someone like that can be remarkably easy… or impossibly difficult depending on how Warcraft literate you are.
We are Warcraft literate. We live in this world too, which is why we wanted to keep this collection small. There’s already a vast sea of Warcraft merchandise out there. 90% of it is garbage. Literally garbage. Ninja-approved mug stealth drinkware with indecipherable clipart on it, gag gift figurines that don’t even look like what they’re supposed to be, t-shirts that hang wrong and lose colour after they’ve been washed twice. We didn’t want any of that shit.
Instead we’ve picked a bunch of amazing stuff that a real Warcraft nerd would actually want to hang on their wall. Or keep hidden under their bedsheets. You know, actual treats that they’ll see, recognise as something that they REALLY want, and know you’ve put some effort into finding rather than something randomly picked in the WoW section of Amazon. Gifts that hit like that are something else.
Oh god do we remember finding gifts for people who already had all the basic stuff. The collector’s editions, the bedroom full of WoW themed plushies, the Frostmourne replica casually swinging from the banisters. We took that kind of person into consideration too. Not just beginners looking for a good starting point, but for the veterans who cut their chains when Warcraft was still vanilla and have been overwhelmed with cookie-cutter merch ever since.
There’s plenty of occasions for pestering these people. Birthdays, Christmas, your WARLOCK finally beating that raid boss they’ve been farming for weeks and you want to congratulate them with a gift befitting the occasion. Or don’t give them a gift for any occasion at all, just because you know they spend a lot of time in Azeroth and you want this present to be “the one” that actually makes them say “fuck yeah!”
Keep it tight. That’s why this collection is small. We would rather guide you towards 6 products we would buy for ourselves than give you 50 that we’re begging you to buy. Honour the edit.
