Boston Red Sox
Fanbases. We’ve all got ’em. But some fanbases take the cake. If you grew up with Fenway as your childhood church, if you remember exactly what the year 2004 meant, if you still tear up when they play the organ before the first pitch… buying a gift for THAT kind of fan isn’t hard. It just means you care enough to take it seriously. Aspirational team merch drops year-round, but most of it is boilerplate stuff that you’ll instantly forget. We wanted more.
Items in this collection have been curated by us for one specific individual: the die-hard fan. The person who is checking the boxscores before they look at their phone in the morning. The person who has opinions about the bullpen. The person who could talk about Ted Williams all day, every day. That kind of fan deserves something more immersive than “Ltd. Edtn.” pajama bottoms with the team logo embroidered on the chest.
That’s why we’ve been picky about what to include here. Does it scream “generic souvenir shop”? Then it didn’t make the cut. We wanted special. We wanted gifts that show you actually care about them feeling appreciated, whether that’s through telling a story nooccerdad knows by heart or crafting something that feels genuinely appreciated. Thank God Red Sox history is something worth mining. Between 1918 and 2004 and every fantastic player in between, this team has built up some real cachet.
Sure, some of these gifts make great birthday presents. But what about for Christmas? Especially for the obsessive in your life who’s entire family already knows they’re getting them Sox gear. Why not give them something different this year? Gift something from this list. Hell, a few of these gifts are even things we’d gift ourselves. We’re not above that. In fact, we encourage it.
We’ve kept this list small for a reason. Trust us, we’d rather recommend ten things we love than thirty mediocre ones. Die-hard Sox fans know a thing or two about waiting for greatness.
