Detroit Pistons
Some fans don’t need convincing. They’ve memorized every Finals run, every Bad Boys story, and every roster player back further than you’d think polite. Purchasing a gift for them can either be incredibly easy, or incredibly difficult depending on your level of commitment. You miss, and it becomes homework decor or thrift store socks. You hit, and it becomes the jersey they wear every day, the mug they drink every morning from or the throw they refuse to replace.
That’s what we considered when compiling this list. Gifts, not gear. Something that actual Pistons fans will use, see, or wear every day instead of tossing in a drawer when the newest gimmick comes along.
Let’s face it, most people don’t have hours to scour the internet for the perfect gift. If you know a diehard Piston fan though? Here’s where you want to start.
Detroit’s fans would qualify as some of the most diehard in the NBA. There’s a pride there that transcends stretches like last season. These are fans who live and breath what those jerseys represent, what they’ve meant to the city for generations. Novelty gift they can chuck after Christmas? Not what they’re looking for. Fans like these want to know that the companies they support understand their teams history, know how to properly print a logo, and aren't just trying to run out the cheapest version of a shirt possible.
That’s how we decided what made the cut. If we wouldn’t give this to someone we know cares about the Pistons, then it wasn’t making our grocery list. We eliminated a lot. Items that were too cliché, too cheaply put together, or just plain offensive to anyone who’s watched more than a handful of games. Everyone here met the bar, and then some.
