Buying a truly great gift for a Sharks fan is more difficult than you’d think. All of the obvious gear, the kind you’ll find plastered all over sports stores everywhere, is stuff people happily nod and smile at before filing away in a drawer to never speak of again. A badge of sports team affiliation on otherwise meaningless junk is not a present. We’ve never liked that philosophy and we’re not gonna start now.
We wanted stuff that the diehard San Jose Sharks fan would genuinely be happy to own, display, drink or wear without feeling like some guy who googled “San Jose Sharks merch” clicked the first thing they recognized and hoped for the best. Teal is important to them. The shark tooth logo is important. Having the SAP Center decked out on fight night means something. We never forgot those things.
Whether they watch from home, have shirts from ages past that are past shirt sizing or stormed The Tank with their dad in better years, this collection has something for every kind of Sharks fan you know. We also considered who the heck is buying these gifts in the first place. Sure they know Aunt Linda loves hockey but are they really gonna get her a jersey they can’t even properly measure to ensure fits? No.
Instead we searched far and wide for stuff that fell into that former category. Gifts that you can tell some thought went into. Products that scream you actually care about who this person is as a fan rather than just what team they happen to cheer for. There’s a line between getting someone Sharks related gear and getting them something they truly will be happy to receive and we set out to spend as much time on that side of that line as possible.
We don’t need or want to list every.single.shark.themed.spoon known to man. You’ll find plenty of those elsewhere. (Though frankly so many of them that are available probably shouldn’t.) We stuck to what we ourselves would want to gift someone who loves teal as much as we do. A small list filled with stuff we know you’ll be happy buying for that special hockey fan in your life.
