Seattle Kraken
Buying a gift for the Kraken fan in your life is either about as simple as it gets or it’s the worst.
If you know them well enough and pick the right thing they’ll think you’ve been listening. Choose incorrectly though and it’s just more impersonal hockey merch that winds up filed next to things from last Christmas (or Christmas before that).
We’ve seen enough of column A to appreciate column B, and this guide was curated because we wanted something better to refer to.

The Kraken are still a relatively new team and this does factor into gift buying. There’s an avidity to fans who supported them from day one; who chose Seattle over other teams moving because they wanted to, not because they had to. We took that person into account when choosing things. The guy/girl who knows the lineup inside out, who watches as many games as their schedule allows and who genuinely feels something when the team gel.
Some of these picks are apparel. Some of them are home goods. Everything here was curated though; we made sure it fits the team in terms of colour *and* quality. The dark blues and teal they rolled with as a theme are some of the best in the league and we wanted accessories that matched that quality, not turned pale after four washes.
We also considered occasion. Some Kraken fans are easy. They will literally wear the jersey to Target on a Tuesday if you let them. Others are harder, picking gifts that they’ll incorporate into their daily lives rather than hanging over their couch like a wannabe shrine.
There’s nothing wrong with either, so we wanted gifts for both.
Lastly, we didn’t want to inflate this list with crap we wouldn’t buy ourselves. There are millions of websites full of a thousand Kraken products. We wanted this to be the shortlist. The one we’d send our friends when they text and ask ‘what should I get my Kraken lover?’
Because trust us, that’s exactly what they need.
